Congratulations to two Kidoons designers who won DORA awards last week!
Melanie McNeill (Set/Props/Costume/Puppet Co-designer for Kidoons and WYRD Productions' hit touring production Jungle Book) took home Outstanding Costume Design for Eldritch Theatre’s Space Opera Zero!
Patrick Lavender (Lighting Designer for Kidoons and WYRD Productions' forthcoming Frankenstein) took home Outstanding Lighting Design for The Nether, co-produced by Coal Mine Theatre and Studio 180 Theatre.
The Dora Mavor Moore Awards are "Canada's Tony", and the 40th Anniversary Doras were held in Toronto on Tuesday, June 25 at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts. The host was our very own Rick Miller, co-creator of Jungle Book, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea, and Frankenstein, as well as his widely acclaimed one-man shows including MacHomer, BOOM, BOOM X, the in-development BOOM YZ, and Bigger Than Jesus (Dora Award for Outstanding Performance, 2006).
